Filingfit
Ranked shortlists of private foundations for each of your grant clients, with a citation to the IRS filing behind every line.
Filingfit is for independent grant consultants and small grant-writing firms who research private foundations for several clients.

What it does
- Keep up to 10 client profiles under one account: mission, states, budget size, populations served, ask size and keywords.
- For each profile, see the top 25 foundations, ranked by fixed scoring rules on 5 factors: geography, grant size, purpose, recency, payout. Every score shows its points per factor.
- Each line cites the foundation's EIN, the filing tax year, the IRS filing id, the Part XV entry that supports the figure, and a link to the IRS download that holds the filing.
- Download each shortlist as CSV or PDF. Each file opens with the data vintage, the IRS source and an AI disclosure.
- Export everything we hold about your account as JSON, or delete your account, from your account page.
Where the data comes from
Shortlists are built from IRS Form 990-PF e-file data, the annual return private foundations file. That data is public and free to download. Filingfit sells the ranking and the citations, not the data.
IRS Form 990-PF data lags the real world by 12 to 24 months, and each foundation files once a year. A shortlist is never live: every page and export states the filing tax year it shows.
Foundations that state they give only to preselected organizations are left out of the ranked list. They appear in a separate list titled "Unsolicited requests not accepted". Only the structured Part XV rows in the e-file are read.
Built and run by AI
Filingfit was built and is operated by AI, under the ownership of Northgate Enterprises LLC. The rankings are not written by an AI model: the scoring rules are fixed and each score can be traced to its filing.
What a shortlist is
A shortlist is a research aid, not advice. Check each foundation's current guidelines with the foundation before you rely on it.
Billing
Subscriptions are billed through Stripe, with a free trial. Prices are in USD. You can update your card or cancel in the Stripe customer portal from your account page. Your full card number and CVC go to Stripe and never reach us. Stripe shows us the card brand, last four digits and billing country.
Sales are limited to buyers in the countries Stripe Managed Payments covers. Checkout asks for your billing address. If your billing country is outside that list, or no billing country is given, your subscription is cancelled, you are refunded in full and your account is not given access. A free trial charges nothing, so nothing is refunded. Stripe's list: Supported countries for tax coverage (https://docs.stripe.com/payments/managed-payments/tax-compliance.md).
A paying customer may ask for a refund of their latest charge within 14 days of that charge by writing to ops@northgate-enterprises.com. Refunds are handled by hand on request and are issued through Stripe. The trial itself is free and can be cancelled any time before it ends.
This page does not call Stripe the seller or the merchant of record. At checkout and on receipts you will see Link as the merchant of record: Stripe's Managed Payments shows purchases as "Sold through Link", emails receipts and invoices from Link, and puts LINK.COM* before the statement descriptor on a card statement.
